Searching for an affordable rental home on SCHousingSearch is simple and safe. With an array of search filters including home size, cost, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and more, users can easily customize their search to find the perfect rental property to suit their needs. No login or registration is required to search listed properties.
Owners and/or management companies interested in listing their properties on SCHousingSearch can easily register and create listings on the platform. The free, easy-to-use website offers resources and support, including tips for maximizing property listings and attracting potential tenants.
HUD and USDA programs provide for income-restricted and subsidized properties.
Use the HUD website search tool to locate subsidized apartments throughout South Carolina.
You may also use the USDA Rural Development to find additional subsidized apartments.

Are you and your family struggling with housing, utilities or other needs? If so, visit the United Way of South Carolina’s 211 at United Way 2-1-1 - Home (sc211.org) or call 211 for help. There maybe other organizations or community action agencies in your area that may have resources to fit your needs.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) assists very low-income families to afford decent, safe, and affordable housing in the private market. HUD’s website provides general information concerning the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. Please contact your local public housing agency for more information about housing programs in your area.
SC Housing administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) in seven SC counties (Clarendon, Colleton, Dorchester, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee and Lexington).
