Palmetto Heroes and other programs offer a stable foundation
Owning a home is more than just having a place to live—it’s about building stability, wealth, and a stronger future. SC Housing’s 2025 Palmetto Heroes Program is making this dream possible for South Carolina’s dedicated public servants by offering $10,000 in forgivable down payment assistance and low, fixed-rate mortgage loans.
Teachers, nurses, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, correctional officers, veterans, and military members play vital roles in our communities.
Yet, homeownership can feel out of reach due to rising costs. Palmetto Heroes and SC Housing's other homebuyer programs helps bridge that gap, allowing these essential workers to put down roots in the places they serve.
For those who do not qualify for the Heroes program, SC Housing offers other homebuyer programs, with or without down payment assistance and low, fixed-rate loans.
With high demand and limited funding, Palmetto Heroes funds will go quickly. Explore all of SC Housing’s homebuyer programs and take the next step toward homeownership today. Visit https://schousing.sc.gov/homebuyers/programs-homebuyers/palmetto-heroes or call 803.896.2211 for more information.
